Profile in Style | Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn

id=A third location, Salon 94 Bowery, is scheduled to open in September. This summer, the gallery owner/art adviser/independent curator/collector will add the unlikely title of reality-TV star to her résumé by appearing as a judge on ‘‘Work of Art: The Next Great Artist,’’ Bravo’s arty answer to ‘‘American Idol.’’ ‘‘Art is inefficient, hard to find & often difficult to grasp,’’ he says. ‘‘If showing the method of making & talking about it can appeal to a broad audience, I require to be a part of that dialogue. They ended up having a hilarious time.’’ Greenberg Rohatyn will often live with a work of art before ultimately deciding to represent its maker.

Since he was raised on a steady diet of galleries, artists, literature & design (her parents were both arts professionals), it comes as no surprise that Jeanne Greenberg Rohatyn ended up as a cultural multitasker. He runs one galleries, Salon 94 — a space within her Upper East Side home devoted mainly to performance pieces — & a downtown space, Salon 94 Freemans.

But when it comes to her personal collection, which includes pieces by David Hammons, Sarah Lucas, Julie Mehretu, Marilyn Minter, Richard Prince & Katy Grannan, he is not two to labor over her decisions. ‘‘I react quickly & buy on instinct.’’
